Adventures with
Flat Jesus
You may have heard of Flat Stanley, a school project launched in 1995 based on a series of children’s books. The project invited kids to color a Flat Stanley and take pictures of their Flat Stanley wherever they went over the summer.
This summer, Christ the King/Cristo Rey invites everyone, young and old, to join the Adventures with Flat Jesus 2025 project. All the details and materials are on the church website, or you may pick them up at church.
Take Flat Jesus with you wherever you go and take pictures of him. It’s a way for us to build community, enthusiasm, and light hearts at Christ the King/Cristo Rey. It’s a good reminder that Jesus is always with us, just as he promised. Flat Jesus makes it easy to tell others about our friend, Jesus. If someone asks you what you are doing while you and Flat Jesus are out and about taking pictures, tell them! You can even invite them to church!
Take Flat Jesus on vacation with you. Take a photo of Flat Jesus next to your offering envelope (no names revealed, of course), dropping your blue bag off at the BottleDrop, grocery shopping, sitting next to your devotion book … so many options! Be creative.
Join the summer fun! Share photos of where you have found Flat Jesus each week. Add your photos to the Flat Jesus wall in the Narthex, post them on your social media page, post them on CTK’s Facebook page, send them to ctkoffice@tigardlutherans.com. Let the world know that Flat Jesus is with us everywhere we go.
Pick up a ready-made Flat Jesus at church, color him (or add some bling!), and start the adventure!
